# Indoor Manual Flight

## Learning Objectives

* **`SWBAT`**: Develop "Free Flight" skills
* **`SWBAT`**: Navigate the "Free Flight" checklist
* **`SWBAT`**: Develop "Autonomous Flight" skills
* **`SWBAT`**: Navigate the "Autonomous Flight" checklist

## Key Objectives

This module introduces students to drone flight physics and teaches students how to operate drones manually. In this module, students will fly drones in the classroom, so they are not required to have a Part 107 license. A TRUST certification is necessary (which should have been obtained in the Regulations Module (Module 3).

**`Note`**: Teachers must maintain a current Part 107 license before teaching this module.

* [ ] What are the 3 rotational forces that act upon a drone?
 * Roll: Rotation around front-to-back axis
 * Pitch: Rotation about side-to-side axis
 * Yaw: Rotation about vertical axis
* [ ] Understand how a drone conducts vertical movement (up/down), rotational movement (left/right), lateral movement (forward/reverse), lateral movement (left/right)
* [ ] Learn basic drone flying maneuvers: launch, climb, fly a box: pitch, fly a box: turn, landing

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://aifs-drone-curriculum.gitbook.io/published/5-flight/indoor-manual-flight.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
